News Clips— Needle Exchange

HEY, WE MAY THINK we love our Seahawks, but the Denver Post knows how to cover the home team.

Sunday's NFL matchup of the barely .500 Hawks and Broncos not only stumbled its way onto national television, it was memorialized by a total of nine bylined stories in the Post, including a feature piece about a rookie defensive end who sacked Hawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck some two and a half times (I'd ask for a recount on that one). Columnist Woody Paige even remarked cheerfully how much fun it was to finally see the Broncos matched up with a team they could beat up on. Must be nice.

Don't start shopping for Broncos playoff tickets just yet. The Seahawks at least managed to knock out Denver's starting quarterback, bringing backup Gus Frerotte off the bench and thus allowing Post columnist Mark Kiszla to propose that old troublemaker's standby—a quarterback controversy.
