The Stops

Though creator Eric Lane Barnes has expanded and re-tooled his production with the help of playwright Drew Emery, the Seattle Weekly's Chris Jensen enjoyed the original back in the fall of 2002, calling it "the best drag show in recent memory. [It's] a fiendishly clever cabaret event—a gleeful send-up of all things holy and good—that introduces us to three lady organists, proud members of the North American Lady Organists' Guild. The songs, all written by Barnes, are as quotable as anything I've heard lately." Empty Space Theatre, 3509 Fremont Ave. N., 206-325-6500. $14-$25. 8 p.m. Thurs.-Sat.; 7 p.m. Sun.; 3 p.m. matinees select Sun. Ends Sat. Sept. 11.
