Coldwater Bar & Grill

The Westin Hotel's in-house restaurant specializes in local seafood. Because it caters to travelers, the small bar's atmosphere is equally comfortable for dining alone or joining in conversation with others. And during happy hour (5 to 7 p.m. weeknights), the prices and reasonable portions make it easy to dive right in. Not only is the seafood local—Coldwater also features seven Northwest beers on tap ($4/pint). If you want something to go with your brew, consider the Dungeness crab and tarragon dip ($5), heavy on the crab and light on the filler. Unfortunately, it's a little too heavy for the lightweight potato, taro, and smoky spinach-tortilla crisps it's served with—you may want to ask for bread. Coldwater's Penn Cove mussels ($7) are sautéed in an herbed wine broth, then roasted in an alder-wood oven for a smoky flavor.
