News Foodies, it's that time again—25 for $25! Twenty-five of Seattle's top restaurants will serve three-course, prix-fixe dinners for $25 Sunday through Thursday during March. Some offer the same selection at lunch for $12.50. Participants include: Andaluca, Barking Frog, Brasa, Campagne, Cascadia, Earth & Ocean, Etta's, Eva, the Fish Club, Flying Fish, Market Street Urban Grill, Nell's Nishino, the Oceanaire Seafood Room, Ponti Seafood Grill, Ray's Boathouse, Restaurant Zoë, Sazerac, Serafina, Six Seven, Szmania's, the Third Floor Fish Cafe, Tulio Ristorante, Wild Ginger, and Yarrow Bay Grill. A complete list of each restaurant's course choices is at Collins Pub hosts the second annual REAL Strong Beer Festival (for REAL big beer drinkers), Thursday, Feb. 16–Monday, Feb. 20. On the Plate Friday, feb. 17–Saturday, Feb. 18 The music will be mushy, but hopefully the food won't as Maggie Laird and the rhythm section of the Island Jazz Quartet perform George and Ira Gershwin's love songs at Crepe de Paris. DOWNTOWN Sunday, Feb. 19 Tums sales will surely skyrocket as Pike Place Market's fourth annual Chili and Barbecue Competition fires up. Fifteen barbecue and 20 chili teams from across the Pacific Northwest will vie for cash, prizes, and bragging rights. Meat lovers can check out four cooking demonstrations and buy pulled-pork sandwiches to benefit the Market Foundation. 10 a.m. Stewart to Virginia Street in the Market, DOWNTOWN Tuesday, Feb. 28 Sazerac is "stagin' all things Cajun" for the restaurant's ninth annual Fat Tuesday Fete. Come costumed or not, or even ready to bare: beads and feather boas will be handed out at the door. The cover price includes Southern-lovin' appetizers (rock shrimp cakes, fried oyster po' boys, gumbo, pizza) and live music from the File Gumbo Band. $25. 6 p.m.–2 a.m. Sazerac, 1101 Fourth Ave., 624-7755, DOWNTOWN Friday, March 3 Celebrity can be bought: At Town Hall's Talk of the Town fund-raising gala, 11 local notables will each open their homes for an intimate dinner party. The evening kicks off with a cocktail reception at Town Hall, with all celebrity guests present. Then partygoers will depart to their chosen dinner party—early reservations get the best pick. Each wine served will be commingled with another to create a limited blend called the Devon Component (and also sampled individually beforehand).
