The Go! Team

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned the nostalgic blast of youthful exuberance Brazil's Bonde do Role give me. I get the same magical rush from England's Go!Team. While the South American club-hoppers bring a naughty sense of adolescent fun, the Brits give off a similar vibe, only in a pre-pubescent, spinning till you’re dizzy, candy rush sort of way. Maybe it's because of the “digital free” quality to their video production, or because so much about their urban, multicultural aesthetic harks back to 1970's and 80's children's public television, but whenever I hear “LadyFlash” I expect a voice to break in when the music fades and inform me “this Go!Team song has been brought to you by sharing, the letter K, and the number- 1,2,3,4,5,-6,7,8,9,10-11,TWELVE! do-do -do -do- do -do -do, dodo do -12!”
