Dategirl in the Flesh

Every week you appeal to her for romantic and sexual advice. Every week she dispenses sound, savvy instructions for navigating that uncertain terrain between drunken barroom hookup and the final sober “I do” at the altar. (Or how to escape that latter option entirely. Or how to dump the groom for his handsome best friend.) She’s even collected that advice in an invaluable book, How Not to Date (Sasquatch, $16.95). Tonight she’ll be calling out the bingo numbers at this benefit event for Lifelong AIDS Alliance. And if you’re lucky and ask nicely enough, maybe she’ll autograph your book and explain the etiquette of taxi sex when you don’t want to offend the Muslim driver. Note: the event is currently sold out, but wait list positions are available by phone. South Lake Union Naval Reserve Building, 860 Terry Ave. N., 323-0069, $200 and up (per group table). 21 and over. 6 p.m. BRIAN MILLER
