Green My Ride

Filling your SUV tank can cost $100 these days, and you’ve been eye-loving your neighbor’s Prius. But those hybrids seem, well, so Un-American, and you’re sure you’d never fit the groceries and kids inside them. The folks of Phinney-Greenwood Climate Action Change Now are promising to resolve your eco-neuroses with Seattle’s first-ever Green My Ride fair. No, they’re not used-car salesmen. They just want to save the Earth with a car show—featuring fuel-efficient vehicles that run on alternative energy (electricity, biodiesel, French fry grease, etc). The event will also feature a bicycle swap, live music, and light-bulb recycling. Resist the temptation to roll up in a Lincoln Navigator, and you’ll be eligible for raffle prizes. Now where’s that old Bianchi hanging in the garage? Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., Free. 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. JOSHUA LYNCH
