Shelby Lynne

WTF was country-rocker Shelby Lynne thinking when she decided to record an entire album, Just a Little Lovin’; covering—wait for it—Dusty Springfield? Sampling the material of the late, great British soul diva takes some serious nerve. Then again, this is the woman who responded to her Grammy (for best new artist) by dryly noting that she had, in fact, been singing for more than a decade. Yet on her new album, Lynne drops the brashness and does justice to the ’60s chanteuse with some gorgeously heartfelt renditions of Dusty’s best. And don’t worry, she has enough sense to steer clear “Son of a Preacher Man.” Showbox SoDo, 1700 First Ave. S., 628-3151, $25. 8:30 p.m. ERIKA HOBART
