1. Icelandic chef Thrainn Freyr Vigfusson and Dahlia Lounge executive chef Brock Johnson have collaborated on a special four-course Nordic menu to be served during this weekend’s “A Taste of Iceland” fest. From October 10 through the 13, Dahlia Lounge will offer dishes prepared with ingredients flown in directly from Iceland. The $65 per person menu includes Wood-Grilled Lamb with Huckleberries and Icelandic Skyr with Wild Blueberries. Call 206-682-4142 for reservations.

2. Hey Victor! According to Eater, the recently remodeled Denny’s in Tacoma will serve free Original Grand Slam breakfasts to the first 100 diners beginning at 9:00 am tomorrow, with free burgers and dinner entrees to follow throughout the day.

3. Capitol Hill’s Monsoon is gaining 30 seats and a cocktail bar. Construction starts October 15 and is scheduled to be completed by spring 2014. Over in Bellevue, Monsoon East is teaming up with Everett’s Bluewater Distilling and Woodinville’s Pacific Distillery to host a cocktail-centric dinner Monday, October 21 at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $75 and available online.

4. Speaking of craft liquor, 2bar Spirits hosts a bourbon release party on Saturday, October 19 in SoDo. 2bar is the first area distillery to produce a 100% local Seattle bourbon.
