Martino’s Launches, Veggie Grill Opens Downtown, and More Food News

1. Martino’s Smoked Meats & Eatery is now open. The Phinney Ridge restaurant features beautifully messy sandwiches like the Bar-B-Cuban, with hickory and cherry smoked pork loin stuffed between Macrina bread and topped with onion jam, gruyere and mustard BBQ sauce. Hours are 11:00 am till 9:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday.

2. If carne’s not your thing, Veggie Grill opens a downtown location at 11:00 am today in the Joshua Green Building on 4th Ave. and Pike St. The Santa Monica-based chain serves 100% plant-based eats.

3. Georgetown’s Full Throttle Bottles hosts a tasting of the new Smoked Pumpkin Cider from Tieton Cider Works from 5:00 to 7:00 pm today.

4. To “shell-ebrate” (sorry) the release of Ivar’s Seafood Cookbook: The O-fish-al Guide to Cooking the Northwest Catch, Ivar’s is planning a series of release parties this month. President Bob Donegan will be on hand at Ivar’s Acres of Clams at Pier 54 for a cookbook signing from 6:00 to 8:00 pm tonight. Guests can sample recipes and will receive a $5 voucher for food and drink with a book purchase.
