1. Diners can help Maria Hines celebrate the third anniversary of her Ballard restaurant Golden Beetle. Through Wednesday, from 4:30 to 10:30 PM, order off a $3 to $8 happy hour menu consisting of items like Fire & Chicken Honey Wings, Skagit River Ranch Burger, and Spiced French Fries cooked in beef fat. Craft cocktails are $6 to $8, draft beer and wine is $4, and well drinks go for $5.

2. Crush is also celebrating an anniversary, its ninth, this week. The award-winning restaurant is serving a multi-course menu on Saturday for $90 with the option to add wine pairings. The menu includes standouts like Roasted Cauliflower and Black Truffle Soup with Monterey Squid “risotto,” mint and dill and Roasted Hawaiian Mero Sea Bass with beet truffle emulsion, black garlic, coriander-mint churi and ash roasted sunchoke.

3. Changes are afoot for Panevino, the Capitol Hill trattoria and bar that opened in 2010. Restaurateur Travis Rosenthal of Tango and Rumba plans to take over the restaurant next month, reports The Capitol Hill Seattle blog. Rosenthal told the blog that, “I really do want to have a neighborhood hangout with fantastic Italian food and cocktails where the staff knows you by name.” The blog also reports that Rosenthal is no longer pursuing plans to open an Italian bar and cafe named Corretto on Capitol Hill.

4. Hooray: full-fat dairy consumption is linked to reduced body fat, reports NPR. They cite two recent studies that link whole-fat milk, cream, and butter to – somehow – a lower obesity rate. Though the world of food science is tricky and largely still in its infancy, scientists have come up with a couple of explanations on why they’re seeing this counterintuitive link. They’re continuing to study the phenomenon, but in the meantime, just go with it.
