1. Mezcaleria Oaxaca on Capitol Hill is hosting a mezcal tasting on April 7th and 8th from 4-6 p.m. with Andrea Hagan, an “expert mezcalera” from Mezcaloteca - a mezcal tasting bar in Oaxaca, Mexico. She’ll be presenting artisanal mezcals and helping guests to distinguish the different flavors and aromas of cultivated, domesticated and wild magueyes and their blends. 2. Mayor Ed Murray has declared today, April 1st, “Ivar’s Fool’s Day.” The reason? Seattle Seafood chain, Ivar’s, is famous for its April Fool’s practical jokes and PR stunts, such as last year’s “Ivar’s Chowder SelectCM;” a groundbreaking new vending machine that delivered customized, mixed-to-order chowders at the touch of a button, 24 hours a day. 3. Looking for some Easter brunch or dinner ideas? Bar Cotto is offering brunch from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. that includes rich seasonal dishes like Pork Belly Hash with roasted fennel, Yukon gold potatoes, a poached egg, and fennel pollen and Creamy Polenta with braised beef, roasted garlic, and tomato.
