1. Maria Hines Restaurants had planned to celebrate next Tuesday’s National Waffle Day a bit early. But plans have changed. Keep an eye on Food News for details on the event later this month. This weekend, Agrodolce is offering a $5 Negroni waffle at brunch (10 a.m. to 2 p.m) to go with your bottomless mimosas. And Tilth is offering chicken and sourdough waffles smothered with smoked chicken gravy, fried eggs, and preserved lemon at brunch (also 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
2. Big changes are afoot at Judkins Street Café. The building the café resides in “is being sold to a developer whose initial plan is to build five town homes on this property,” and the sale should close in mid-August, according to a recent email from the café. The café is hoping to relocate.
3. On Monday, Tallulah’s, Smith, and Oddfellows Cafe + Bar will host another Meatless Monday event to raise money for Solid Ground’s Lettuce Link program. Lettuce Link grows and collects organic produce for food banks, meal programs, and shelters in Seattle. Ten percent of all proceeds from Monday’s sales will benefit the organization.
4. Michigan is now home to a jet ski pizza delivery service. You can order and have your pie delivered right to your boat. Seattle entrepreneurs, are you listening?
