Mayor Murray's 'Sasquatch Proclamation' Designates May 23 a Day in Honor of Sasquatch

That ol' rock 'n' roller, Mayor Ed Murray, took the time today to issue an official "Sasquatch Proclamation."

The proclamation declares May 23 a City of Seattle recognizied "day in honor" of the Gorge's giant Memorial Day weekend rock and roll camp out, the Sasquatch! Music Festival.

Murray outlines the myriad reasons why Sasquatch deserves the honor, chiefly among them the fact that it has showcased "Seattle's vibrant music scene" since 2002, and that the festival "shares Seattle's progressive commitments and dedication to civic participation" by partnering with groups like The Vera Project, Teen Feed, and Washington Bus.

Sasquatch kicks off this Friday on Seattle's new "honorary day," May 23. Check out the lineup here.
