Seattle soccer fans gathered at the Seattle Public Library's Central branch yesterday for the Ghana vs. U.S match. They were witness to an exciting 2-1 victory for the U.S. including an early goal by hometown hero Sounders' Forward Clint Dempsey. A diversity of cheers came out of the crowd for both teams, but ultimately fans went wild for the U.S when John Brooks scored their second goal in the 86th-minute.
It was the library's first World Cup viewing party, and a successful one as more than half of the Microsoft Auditorium was filled. The next game hosted by the library is on Sunday, June 22 for the U.S vs. Portugal match.
