The Glamour & the Squalor, a documentary on the life of former KEXP and The End DJ Marco Collins, will be screened in a sneak preview at 7 p.m. this Friday at EMP. Back in 2010, former Seattle Weekly music editor Chris Kornelis wrote of the famed DJ’s long road to sobriety and return to the airwaves. (When I interviewed the DJ for a piece I wrote on the sadly now defunct Jet City Stream radio, Collins credited Kornelis for igniting his comeback.) Needless to say, the doc looks compelling: Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready will compose its soundtrack, and Collins himself—an inductee into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame—is hosting the event. It’s official release is slated for 2014, tickets are $35 and benefit MusicCares and are not available for purchase on site. You can get them through Brown Paper Tickets here.
